ネイティブのLee先生が着任して約3か月が経ちました。
先生が感じている成女の印象を、シリーズでお届けしています。
Now it is graduation season. We had an event this week which was a first time experience for me. The graduating class had created a video sharing their memories over the last three years of high school. I couldn’t understand what was being said but I could understand everyone’s feelings. Everyone seemed so happy to remember all the great experiences they had had here yet there was a feeling of sadness to be leaving such a great school.
Much like the graduates who are excited to start their new lives, I very much look forward to the next year that I will be here at Seijo. I look forward to getting to know each of the girls, introducing them to what life is like outside of Japan, and being able to provide them with authentic English as well as getting to know all the staff and improving my Japanese. Overall I am very excited to be here at Seijo!
現役たちの心温まる演出で、卒業生が送りだされていくのは成女の伝統です。
Lee先生は、卒業生たちの生き生きとした表情から、彼女たちの充実した３年間を感じ取ったようです。
今回のシリーズは、これでおしまいです。
来年度も、Lee先生の感じた成女、について配信できればと思っています。

先生が感じている成女の印象を、シリーズでお届けしています。
During my first week at Seijo, I had a chance to see the school’s rock band club. I was absolutely blown away by how talented the girls were and that they also produce a yearly album! “Club activities” don’t really exist except for school sports teams in NZ so it was really cool to see this!

From the classes I have been too I immediately noticed that the girls here at Seijo are all hard workers and get along with each other so well. The girls are very warm-hearted and it's nice to see them helping each other and boosting each other's confidence in class so that no one gets left behind. It’s also especially nice when the students come up to me at the end of class to chat in English or show me something they are interested in or proud of.
There are many things I am still getting used to, which are normal here but strange for me, such as indoor and outdoor shoes, standing and bowing at the beginning and end of each class, using a blackboard, using zoom, how formal meetings and assemblies are etc.
